Your Notebook is your personalized space for all your journal entries, trade recaps, and notes. It’s designed to keep everything organized, making it easy to track and review your trading journey.
Adding Notes
When you add notes to your trades, they are automatically synced and stored in the respective folders within your Notebook. Notes added to your Daily Journal are saved in the Daily Journal folder, while trade-specific notes go into the Trade Notes folder.
There are several places you can jump into the same note:
From Dashboard — click View my day to open that day's planning page, then scroll down to the Notes section at the bottom. You can also click a day on the calendar and use the View note / + Add note button in the popup.
From Day View — click View my day, or use the quicker View note / + Add note button shown on each day's row.
From the Trade View or Trade Page — click into a trade from Trade View, go to the Notes tab, and choose between the Trade note or Daily Journal sub-tabs.
Directly from the Notebook page — click the + icon next to a folder (e.g., Daily Journal, Trade Notes) to start a new note in that folder.
Pro Tip: To get more writing space, you can always collapse the sidebars!
Deleting Notes
To delete a note, click on the three dots (...) in the top right corner of the note and select "Delete". A confirmation dialog will appear — click Delete to confirm.
Once deleted, the note will move to the "Trash" folder in the sidebar, where it will remain for 30 days before being permanently removed.
Recovering Deleted Notes
Go to Notebook, and look in the left sidebar for the Trash folder (near the bottom of the folder list).
Open Trash and click on the note you want to recover.
Click the three dots (...) at the top of the note, then select Restore.
You can restore a note this way within 30 days of deleting it. After 30 days, it's permanently removed and can't be recovered.
Sharing Notes
Click the Share button at the top of the note to open the Share note dialog. This automatically generates a shareable URL — anyone with the link can read the note.
From here, you can:
Click the copy icon next to the URL to copy the link
Click Continue to close the dialog and keep sharing
Click Stop sharing to deactivate the URL immediately
Once shared, a link icon appears next to Share — click it to instantly copy the link, and a people icon 👥 appears next to the note in the sidebar.
Downloading Notes
Go to the Notebook section and select the note you want to export.
Click the three dots (...) at the top of the note, then select Export.
Choose Export as PDF or Export as Lexical.
Adding and Removing Tags
Click the tag icon 🏷 in the note's toolbar. In the Filter tags panel, check the box next to an existing tag to apply it, or use Create tag to make and apply a brand-new one. To remove a tag, open the same panel and uncheck it.
You can use note tags on the Notebook page to filter your notes effectively. Click a tag to filter All notes down to just the notes with that tag — click it again to remove the filter.
Please note that trade tags and note tags are different and do not sync.
Creating New Folders
In addition to the Daily Journal and Sessions Recap folders, you can create as many folders as you’d like. This helps you organize your thoughts while keeping everything in one place.
Note Templates
One effective way to systematize your process is by creating templates.
How to create a template and set it as default:
Go to Notebook.
Click on the three dots beside your selected folder.
Click “Select Default Template.”
Type or select a template format that you’d like to follow.
Hit save.
This template will automatically populate when you add a note under that folder.
Best Practices
Block a Time for Trade Recaps: Schedule a dedicated time in your calendar for doing a trade recap. Whether you’re a night owl or prefer to do it right after your trading session, choose a time that works best for you. Consistency is key!
Create a Goals Folder: Make a specific folder to house your Goals for the Year. Break these down into Quarterly Goals, Monthly Goals, and even Weekly Goals. This approach makes it easy to revisit and track your progress straight from your journal.
Develop Templates for Your Daily Journal: Set up templates for your Daily Journal folder to encourage regular entries. Consider including the following sections:
Pre-Market Game Plan: Outline your strategy before the market opens.
Watchlist: Keep track of the stocks or assets you’re monitoring.
What I Did Great: Reflect on the successful aspects of your trading day.
Mistakes I Made: Acknowledge areas for improvement.
Reinforcements to Myself: Positive affirmations or lessons learned.
Overall Recap: Summarize your trading day as a whole.
Your Notebook is an invaluable tool for organizing your trading journey. By leveraging its features and following these best practices, you’ll ensure that your notes are well-structured, accessible, and insightful. Keep refining your process, and your trading journal will serve as a powerful resource for continuous improvement.
