Automatically import your trades from Coinbase into TradeZella by connecting your account with a CDP API Key. Follow the steps below to get set up.

Step 1: Create Your API Key on Coinbase

  • Log in to your Coinbase account.

  • Click Create New API Key.

  • Set the permission to "View" only.

  • Leave IP whitelist blank

  • Once the key is created, copy both the API Key Name and the Private Key.

⚠️ Your Private Key is only shown once — make sure to copy and store it safely!

Step 2: Connect to TradeZella

  • Visit the Add Trade page or click "Add Trade" from the sidebar.

  • Click "Add New Account".

  • Choose Coinbase as your broker and click Continue.

  • Select "Auto Sync" as the import method and click Continue again.

  • Paste your API Key Name and Private Key into the respective fields.

  • Click Connect.

TradeZella will sync your Coinbase account, and you'll see the sync status update on the Add Trade page.

💡 Pro Tip: Use the account filter in the top right corner to switch between accounts effortlessly.

Troubleshooting

If your connection fails:

  • Double-check that you copied the full API Key Name and Private Key without any extra spaces. Make sure the API key has "View" permission enabled.

If your trades aren't syncing:

  • Give it a few minutes — the initial sync may take some time depending on your trade history. If trades still don't appear, try unlinking and relinking your account from the Add Trade page.

If your P&L doesn't match:

  • Small differences between TradeZella and Coinbase are normal. TradeZella may calculate fees slightly differently. Review your trades in the Trade Log to confirm the data looks correct.
