You can import your Coinbase trades into TradeZella using the CSV file upload method. Follow the steps below to export your trade data from Coinbase and upload it into TradeZella.

Exporting trade data from Coinbase

  • Log in to your Coinbase account.

  • Navigate to Statements — click the See All button on the left sidebar.

  • Select Taxes.

  • You'll see several tabs: Tax Profiles, Security, Statements, and Activities. Click on Statements.

  • On the Statements page, you'll see the option to generate a custom statement on the right side.

Configure your export

  • Assets: Select All Assets

  • Transaction Types: Select All Transaction Types

  • Date Range: Select Custom

  • Start Date: Select the date you opened your Coinbase account (e.g., if you started in January 2022, select January 2022)

  • End Date: Select today's date (or the most recent date you want to include)

  • Select CSV as the format and click GENERATE.

💡 Important: To ensure all your trades import correctly, make sure you select the date range from when you first opened your Coinbase account to the present. This way, no trades are missed.

Uploading the exported file into TradeZella

  • Visit the TradeZella Add Trade page here or by clicking the "Add Trade" button on the sidebar.

  • On the Add Trade page, click "Add New Account" if you're creating a new account for these trades.

  • On the Add New Account page, select Coinbase as the broker and click Continue.

  • Next, select the File Upload method and click Continue again.

  • On the final step, select the timezone of the file and upload the CSV file you exported from Coinbase. The system will handle the rest.

And that's it! Your Coinbase trades will be uploaded and ready for review in no time.

If you're uploading trades to an existing account, simply click on the "Add Trades" button in the account field:

If your P&L doesn't match

Small differences between TradeZella and Coinbase are normal. TradeZella may calculate fees slightly differently. Review your trades in the Trade Log to confirm the data looks correct.
