Create a Trade Note Before Importing a Trade and Link It Later

Create trade notes before importing trades in TradeZella and link them later. Great for live journaling and delayed trade uploads.

Why This Matters

Trade notes don't have to wait on your import. This lets you:

  • Journal a trade live or right after you close it

  • Capture your mindset and reasoning while it's fresh, even before the trade shows up in your account

  • Link the note to the trade once it's imported

Creating a Trade Note Before Import

  • Go to Notebook > Trade Notes in the sidebar.

  • Click the + next to the Trade Notes folder to start a new note.

  • Title it and write your entry — mindset, setup, reasoning, or whatever you want to capture.

Linking a Note to a Trade

Once your trade is available:

  • Open the trade note.

  • Click the "..." menu next to Share, then select Link to a trade.

  • In the Recent trades panel, search or scroll to find the trade, then click the link icon on that row.

Unlinking a Note

  • Click the "..." menu — it now shows Unlink from a trade in the same spot.

  • Confirm on the prompt that appears. The note itself isn't deleted; it stays in the Trade Notes folder, just without the trade stats attached.

Quick Tips

  • You don’t have to wait for trades to import — jot your thoughts down right away.

  • Useful for real-time journaling, so you don't miss key insights while they're fresh.

  • Linking is optional - you can leave a trade note unlinked if it’s a general observation or prep note.

  • You can only link one note per trade, and one trade per note.

Delayed imports don't have to slow down your journaling — write it now, link it later.
