Applying Tags to Trades

Learn how to tag your trades in TradeZella to keep a clear record of your setups and mistakes

Written by Team

Tagging helps you get the most out of your trade journal. Tags help you identify what setups you're taking and what mistakes you're making, giving you an organized way to analyze them.

You can add tags to your trades from the Day and Week tabs, and from the Trade Preview and Detail page. The Trade Detail page's tagging panel also has an Add new category link for creating a category on the spot, and a Manage tags link that takes you to the Content management page — see Creating and Deleting Tags and Tag Categories for the full walkthrough.

Applying Tags from the Day and Week Tabs

  • Navigate to the Day or Week tab, expand the trade's row, and click the + icon in the Tags column (tooltip: Add Tag) to open Add and manage tags.

  • Pick tags from each category's Select tag dropdown — selections apply instantly as chips, no Save button needed.

  • Click the ⋯ next to any tag or category name to rename or delete it.

  • Close the window when you're done.

You can add and remove columns by clicking the settings icon and selecting your preferred columns from the pop-up.

Applying Tags from a Trade's Preview or Detail Page

  • Click into the trade from the Day, Week, or All tab to open its trade preview, then click the Tags tab.

  • Pick tags from each category's dropdown the same way as the Day/Week tagging window. You'll also find Add new category and Manage tags links here.

  • For the full page instead, click Go to trade details — the same tag categories appear there too, under Stats.

By effectively using tags, you can analyze your trades more efficiently and gain valuable insights into your trading patterns. Check out the help article on analyzing tags here.
