Notebook keeps a history of your notes, so overwriting or accidentally clearing one doesn't mean it's gone for good. Here's how to look back at an earlier version and bring it back.
What Version History Does
TradeZella automatically saves earlier versions of your Notebook notes for up to 30 days, so you can look back at what a note said before and restore an older version if you overwrote or deleted something by mistake. There's no setting to turn on — this works automatically on any note you can edit.
Opening Version History
Open the note you want to look at.
Click the Version history icon (a clock with an arrow) in the note editor's toolbar.
The same icon is also available in the note editors inside Start My Day and Trade Review.
This opens a side panel listing every saved version of the note:
Current — the top entry, showing when the note was last saved.
Saved version — an earlier snapshot of the note, each with its own date and time.
Before restore — created automatically whenever you restore an older version, holding whatever content it replaced.
If a note has no earlier versions yet, the panel reads: "No previous versions yet. Saved versions are kept for 30 days."
❗ Versions older than 30 days are removed and can't be opened.
Previewing a Version
Click any entry in the list to preview it — the panel shows that version as a read-only copy on the right. You're only looking at it, not editing it, so previewing never changes your actual note.
Restoring a Version
Open Version history and select the version you want from the list.
Review it in the preview pane.
Click Restore this version.
Confirm in the "Restore this version?" window that appears: "The note content will be replaced with this version. Your current content will be saved in version history, so you can restore it later."
Click Restore.
You'll see "The selected version was restored," and the panel closes with your note now showing the content you picked.
Changed your mind? The content you just replaced was automatically saved as a Before restore entry — open Version history again, select it, and restore it the same way to undo what you did.
⚠️ Restoring brings back the note's content and any images in that version — but not its title or tags, which stay as they currently are, even if the version you're restoring had different ones.
⚠️ If the note was changed in another tab or on another device, reopen Version history before restoring.
Version history gives every Notebook note a safety net — if something gets overwritten or deleted, you’re never more than a few clicks from getting it back.
