The Sessions Indicator by TradeZella adds the major trading sessions to your backtesting chart so you can see when each one is active. You can show or hide individual sessions and adjust their times to match how you trade.
What is the Sessions Indicator?
The Sessions Indicator highlights the three major trading sessions — New York, Asia, and London — directly on your backtesting chart. Each session is shaded over the time range when it's active, so you can:
See exactly when a session opens and closes
Focus on the session or sessions you actually trade
Study how price behaves during a specific session (for example, the Asian range)
When you add the indicator, all three sessions are shown by default. From there, you can turn sessions on or off and change their times.
⚠️ Note: Timings in session indicator settings are set in UTC.
How do I add the Sessions Indicator?
On your backtesting chart, click Indicators in the top toolbar.
Search for session, then select Sessions Indicator by TradeZella.
The indicator is added to your chart, showing all three sessions by default.
How do I show or hide a specific session?
Use this to focus on only the sessions you want — for example, showing just the Asian range or only the Asian and London sessions.
Hover over the Sessions Indicator name at the top of your chart and click the Settings (gear) icon.
On the Style tab, uncheck New York and London. Only Asia stays active, making it function as your Asian Session Indicator.
Click Ok to apply.
Examples:
Asian session only: uncheck New York and London. Only Asia stays active.
Asian and London only: uncheck New York. Both Asia and London stay active.
Your chart now shows only the sessions you selected.
How do I set custom session times?
You can change the start and end time of any session to match your trading hours or time zone.
Open the indicator Settings and go to the Inputs tab.
Adjust the session times.
The default session times are:
NY Session (UTC): 12:00–16:00
Asia Session (UTC): 00:00–05:00
London Session (UTC): 07:00–10:00
After adjusting the settings, click OK to apply the changes to your chart.
All times are in UTC, so adjust for your local time zone if needed.

Session indicators are also useful when combined with the “Go-To” feature. You can quickly skip to the start of the Asian session (or any other active session), saving you from manually scrolling through time.
With the Sessions Indicator set up this way, your chart shows only the sessions you care about, timed exactly how you trade.
