Once you've reviewed your automated backtest results, go to View Setup to run it again, tweak it, or save it for later. It shows the exact configuration behind your results and gives you a set of quick actions.
How do I open View Setup?
Go to Backtesting → Sessions, click the three-dot menu (⋮) on an automated backtesting session, and choose Session results.
Then click View Setup in the top-right corner to open the Confirm your setup view.
What does View Setup show?
The setup summary lays out the configuration behind your backtest:
Symbol — the instrument you backtested
Balance — your starting account balance
Period — the date range tested
Session — the trading session used
Strategy logic — your strategy written out in full
Below that, you can expand three sections for the details:
Entries — your long and short entry conditions, indicators, and timeframes
Exits — your stop loss and take profit settings
Trade controls — trading days, max trades per day, session timing, and position sizing
To edit the title, click the pencil icon next to it.
💡 Pro Tip: Use this view to double-check that TradeZella interpreted your strategy the way you intended before you run it again.
How do I run the same backtest again?
Click "Run again" to run the exact same setup a second time. Use this when you want a fresh run without changing anything.
How do I run the backtest with changes?
Click "Run with a modified prompt" to reopen your existing strategy description, already filled in, so you can customize it — including setting the additional rules fresh — before running a new backtest.
How do I save a backtest as a template?
Click Save as template to store this setup as a reusable template. Your saved templates then appear under Your Templates in the Pre-fill from a template panel when you start a new automated backtest, so you can reuse a strategy without rewriting it.
That's it! From the View Setup, you can rerun, refine, or reuse any backtest without starting from scratch.
