A well-structured Strategy helps you stay disciplined, track performance, and refine your trading edge. Let’s break it down so you can create Groups/Criteria, and Rules that fit your style.
Strategy Groups
Groups are like folders for your rules — they keep your Strategy organized and easy to follow. In the screenshot example below, you can see groups like:
Entry Criteria:
What needs to happen before you jump into a trade?
Example: A gap up above a key level.
Exit Criteria:
When’s the right time to cash out?
Example: Take Profit hits 5 points.
Market Conditions:
• Are there specific market vibes to keep an eye on?
• Example: SPY is trading above XYZ.
Within each group, you can add rules that describe the specific conditions or patterns you want to track.
Default Rule Criteria
Decide when each rule should pop up based on how your trade plays out. Should it show up:
When trade is a winner
When trade is a loser
When trade is a breakeven
Always show this rule
Note: If a trade is already linked to a rule, you cannot change its “show rule only when” setting.
How to Edit Strategy Rules and Groups
In the Strategies section, click on the Strategy you want to edit.
Select the Rules tab
Click the three-dot button on the right side of the rule group. From there, you can:
Change the rule details
Adjust the “show rule only when” criteria (if eligible)
Delete a rule
To add a new rule to a group, click + Add rule under that group.
To create a brand new group, click Add rule group at the top right.
Assign Trades and Track Your Discipline
Once your rules are ready, head to your Trades tab, open a trade, and check off the rules you followed. This lets you track:
Follow rate (%)
Net profit/loss for trades following the rule
Profit factor
Win rate
A Strategy is most effective when it’s updated regularly. Review your stats, drop rules that aren’t working, and refine the ones that improve your edge.
