Zella AI is now available inside a specific backtesting session. Open it while you backtest a session, and it can control the replay, read the chart up to the current point, add indicators, and analyze your recorded results — all without leaving the chart.
How Do I Open Zella AI in a Backtesting Session?
Open or continue a session from the Backtesting page.
Open the Zella AI panel from the AI icon in the session's right-hand toolbar.
The panel shows which session you're replaying (session name, symbol, and starting balance).
Use New chat at the top of the panel to start a fresh conversation for the session.
What Can Zella AI Do in a Backtesting Session?
Read and analyze the chart
Read the current chart, including the latest visible candles and indicator values.
Explain price action, trend, structure, key highs and lows, momentum, and volatility, and point out possible trade locations.
Review what Williams Fractal is marking and whether recent fractals are useful structure or noise.
Compare multiple charts if you have a split layout open.
Analyze historical candles before the current replay point.
💡 Zella AI won't reveal candles after the current replay point unless you specifically ask it to look ahead.
Set up the chart
Add indicators such as VWAP, RSI, and Fair Value Gaps, and more.
Add them with default settings and tell you which settings it used.
Change the chart timeframe — for example, from 1-minute to 5-minute, hourly, or daily.
Control the replay
Play or pause the replay.
Change the playback speed (10× by default).
Change the playback interval (1 minute per step by default).
Jump to a specific point in the session.
⚠️ Note: If you jump backward, TradeZella asks you to confirm because orders placed after that time would be removed.
Run a structured backtest
Build a pre-trade checklist: higher-timeframe bias, key levels, entry trigger, stop, target, invalidation, and sizing.
Define objective strategy rules so you're not judging trades emotionally.
Help you tell a valid setup from a chase, countertrend attempt, late entry, or low-quality range trade.
Compare your execution to a Strategy's sample trades, if it has them.
Review the trades you log: P&L, win rate, expectancy, hold time, long vs. short, and rule adherence.
Journal and improve
Append a structured recap to the session note without overwriting your existing notes.
Document each trade's thesis, entry, stop, target, mistake, and lesson.
Create or refine a Strategy you can use to judge future sessions.
Create a draft backtesting scenario for repeated practice.
Compare this session against your other backtests or your live trading.
💡 Best use: before each entry, tell Zella AI your intended direction and trigger. It will pressure-test the thesis and make sure you have a defined invalidation and target before you commit.
